The Stinger has Stung

When Kia arrived for the 2018 model year with the newly created Stinger which is an incredible sports sedan that can compete in the market with the Nissan Maxima while showing off its roots that come from BMW, you might not have expected this model to have a dramatic influence across the model lineup from Kia, but it has. If you take a look at what Kia is offering for our driving enjoyment starting with the new Kia Forte, you can see exactly how the Stinger has stung the lineup and it’s done so in a way that will easily make you smile.
The reason the Forte has a similar albeit subdued styling compared to the Stinger is because the two cars were being designed next to each other in the Kia design studio. Because of this, the new Forte show off an appearance with a long hood, short rear deck, and lines that make this car look longer and sleeker than you might expect. This new model of the Forte is one that shows that Kia has created a small sedan that’s more of what you’ll want for the drive on the road.

The Forward Movement

The Forte takes more styling cues from the Stinger than just the body style. The headlights and taillights have a similar look to them and the interior has been upgraded to offer a layout with circular vents and a higher grade of materials than what you’d expect. These are all items that you find in the Stinger but at a more subdued level in the Forte to make it one of the most attractive models in the compact sedan class. These impressive qualities could make it easy for you to choose the Forte if you’re ready for a new model to drive this year.

When the Kia Stinger was created, it raised the bar for the entire brand which shows up in the Forte and will eventually make its way to the other models in the Kia lineup as well. As the car that has found a way to replace two models, the K900 and Cadenza, that are no longer part of the lineup, the Stinger is now the Kia standard by which all other models in the lineup will be measured. This means we should see the Optima upgraded with new style and qualities when it’s time to move to a new generation and might even be graced with a new look in the Rio for the future.

There’s no doubt the Kia brand has been stung by the Stinger and plans to continue to make this car the new flagship sedan with its sporty qualities that give us something more exciting for the drive we make on a daily basis. Not only has the Stinger influenced the Kia brand, but with this new and exciting car in the lineup, Kia is able to put the rest of the sedan market on notice with stylish and engaging vehicles that could easily be the first choice for us when shopping for the cars we drive on a daily basis.
