Could it be the End

Could it be the End

For many years we’ve loved and admired the Z cars that have come from Nissan for us to drive. These cars have been known as the affordable models that give us the sporty style of a small coupe that is active andenergetic on the road for the drive we want to experience. If you wanted to have fun on the road and didn’t feel compelled to shop in the American Muscle Car segment, the Z cars from Nissan were the perfect fit for you with a gorgeous sleek Japanese style that is a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, Nissan may be heading toward the end of an era with the 370Z. This may end up being the last of the Z cars from this brand as they continue to see heavier sales in the compact SUV market and a slower sales trend for the 370Z. While this can be a sad thing to think about, it does make some sense when it comes to the profits and sales that need to be experienced by any automotive brand to continue to offer us a vehicle for the driving we want to do out on the road.

Not Abandoning Fun

With a desire to focus more heavily on the crossover SUV segment of the market, it feels like the Nissan team plans to abandon fun and just give us vehicles that are made for our daily drive. Thankfully, Nissan has stated the stillwant to find a way to offer us excitement and fun on the road and track with a vehicle that has the dynamics desired, but in a different package. Thus, the challenge facing Nissan is one that others haven’t faced with some of their sports cars, but it also appears Nissan has the right answer.

In 2015, Nissan showed up at the Frankfort Motor Show with the Nissan Gripz concept which is a two-door coupe crossover. This impressive small crossover was built with some inspiration form the 240Z rally cars whichcould make it the perfect successor to the current 370Z. This small, sporty, crossover just might give the fun driving we want the life it deserves and maybe it will also wear the Z as part of the name to continue the tradition of the Z cars that we wantto have when it’stime for a fun and active drive.

As the sub-brand that Nissan has offered with one model at a time over the years, Nissan knows the importance of the brand so that we can have the sporty style and fun that makes sense for us to have the drive desired. It will be difficult to surpass the 370Z and heading into a different area of the market with something completely different just might be the way to do this so that we can have fun and accept something new that isn’t exactly the same as the 370Z has been for us over the past few years for the drive.
