Airplane Area –The frunk of the Model 3 is built to be the same size as the overhead carry-on bins offered on airplanes. This is where you can put the bags you’ll take on the plane with you during your travels and you will know that what you’ve brought will fit as long as it fits nicely into the frunk of the car.
Supercharger Ready –While the Supercharging will come at a feel for those driving the Model 3, it is a car that can be supercharged using the Tesla network. This car can be charged at a rate of one kWh per minute to help you receive the charging power needed for this new long-range EV that will be perfect for the drive.
AWD Dual Motor Model on the Way –The first run of this car will only offer you RWD and a rear-mounted motor. Soon after production begins this car will offer an AWD dual motor model that will have a front motor which won’t affect the frunk space of the car. This will be the model that many that have pre-ordered this car may want to wait for.
Autopilot Ready –Similar to the Model S and Model X the Model 3 will have all the hardware to use the Autopilot system. This system is part of the $5,000 package that you can add at any time in the future. As a decision you don’t have to make right away, this means you can upgrade your Model 3 in your ownership period.
Ready for the Future –As the Model 3 is brought to market this is a car that will be able to be fitted with the self-driving software you want to enjoy in the future. You will have to start with the Autopilot system at $5,000 and then an additional $3,000 for the self-driving qualities that you want to enjoy out on the road.
An App Key –You will have Tesla App installed on your smartphone as part of the purchase of this car. That app is your key to the car, making it so that you don’t have a key fob that you can lose when you’re driving. There are even some features you can control from this app to make sure you can enjoy the drive with the most technology offered.
Two Battery Options –The base model offers you a range of only 220 miles from a single charge while the upgraded battery offers you a longer range which extends this range to 310 miles. This upgraded battery system will cost you an additional $9,000 over the base price of the car and helps when you need to have a longer drive on the road.
Fast Charging –Using a Supercharger the standard battery will charge in 50 minutes while the long-range battery will charge in about 55 minutes. This charging time is short compared to other EV models and even with a 240-volt charger, you’ll only have to wait between 7.5 and 8.5 hours for the battery to charge at home.
Relatively Quick Acceleration –This car will reach sixty mph in 5.6 seconds with the standard battery and 5.1 seconds with the long-range model. This isn’t as fast as what you’re used to from the Model S, but it’s no slouch and will allow you to enjoy the drive wherever you want to go with your Model 3.
