The Chevrolet Tahoe is an impressive SUV. It’s one of the few remaining truck-based SUVs you’ll find on the road, providing a spacious interior with room for up to nine people. In addition to the space, this SUV has lots of power and provides massive towing capabilities. The 2023 model will be the third year of the latest generation, Tahoe, but what does Chevy have in store for it?
It’s Still Larger Than Life
The 2023 Tahoe will still have all the space riders expect in this large SUV. All three rows have plenty of space, and even the third row has lots of legroom. The second row slides back and forth, so passengers with longer legs can get the space they need to stretch out, and in the higher trims, the center console is also power-adjustable and moves back and forth to help make space where you need it.
Is There A New Tahoe Trim Coming?
There is talk of a new high-performance Tahoe coming for the 2023 model year. If it makes an appearance, it could have a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 engine. This engine under the hood of the Camaro ZL1 puts out 650 horsepower and gets 650 pound-feet of torque. The Tahoe is significantly different in size and weight from the Camarao, so a performance model with the same engine will perform differently.
The Engine Lineup
While there is speculation about a new performance Tahoe in the works, the engine lineup for the current lineup should look familiar. The standard powertrain is a 5.3-liter V-8 that puts out 355 horsepower, but you can opt for one of the two upgraded engines. There’s a six-cylinder turbodiesel with 277 horsepower and a 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine with 420 horsepower. The 10-speed automatic transmission that works with all the engines never disappoints.
If You Love the 2022 Tahoe, You’ll Love the 2023 Tahoe
With several other Chevy models receiving updates and changes for the 2023 model year, the Tahoe should carry over with just the normal shifting of equipment between trims. LED exterior lighting comes standard even if you have the entry-level Chevrolet Tahoe, and getting up into this large vehicle is made easier by the standard side steps. The top two trims make it even easier with their power-retractable side steps.
New Technology Features?
The Tahoe already delivers an impressive list of technology features. The current generation comes standard with a 10.2-inch touch screen and a wireless version of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You never need to worry about any of your passengers not having a place to plug in, because it comes with eight USB ports. Onboard Wi-Fi is also standard, along with voice controls. You couldn’t get more technology at your fingertips if you walked into your local electronics store.
The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe should have just a few updates, and there’s chatter about a new performance trim. We should know more a little later in the year.
