Jeep Offers Two New Wrangler Color Options for 2023

Jeep Offers Two New Wrangler Color Options for 2023

The 2023 versions of the Jeep Wrangler might stand out a lot more than some of the previous versions. Two new colors join the lineup for this off-road SUV.

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most iconic vehicles in the history of the automotive world. Without the Wrangler, the Jeep brand would not exist, and without the brand, the Wrangler might be relegated to military duty only. The two go hand in hand, giving you the thoughts of one or the other when you hear either mentioned.

The Color Names Don’t Tell the Story

The two colors added to the 2023 model year are Earl and Reign. Just saying these names doesn’t tell you what they are or how they will look in the Wrangler.

The Earl name, you might guess, if you’re familiar with the tea of the same name. Earl is a shade of gray that has aquamarine blended into it. This color first showed up on the Gladiator Farout concept model from 2020.

Reign is a purple color that we last saw on the 2018 JK Wrangler. This color will absolutely catch your gaze and keep you staring at it for a long time. The Reign color is available for a limited run during 2023, which tells us we won’t see a lot of purple Wranglers, but you could have one.

What are the Other Jeep Wrangler Colors

Earl is being offered for the entire 2023 model year, but if you want the Reign color, you’ve got to get your order in early. Once November hits, this purple is gone until Jeep brings it back again. Other colors you can find for the Wrangler are Firecracker Red, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Silver Zynith, Sting Gray, Granite Crystal, Black, and Bright White.

The Freedom Package is a Limited Item for the Wrangler

Previously announced for the 2023 model year, Jeep adds the Freedom Package as an option for this SUV and the Gladiator pickup. This package pays homage to the American military by giving either vehicle exterior and interior design elements featuring a military motif. This package is only offered for the Sport S model, and it costs an additional $3,295. Some of the upgrades included in this package are an American flag decal, an Oscar Mike insignia on the rear swing gate, a steel front bumper, and rock rails.

What does it Feel Like to Drive the Wrangler?

The Jeep Wrangler has been one of the most incredible off-road SUVs in the world. This amazing SUV is extremely comfortable on the trails, although it will toss you around in your seat. The latest version of the Wrangler gives you a more sustainable on-road drive as well, which means you can use this Jeep every day. Of course, if you’re buying this off-road SUV, you’ll have to find some trails to take it on. If not, you’ll have a Wrangler that pouts because it’s relegated to staying between the lines.

The Interior is an Oxymoron Package Great for Off-Roading

If you’re looking for a posh, upscale, and comfortable cabin, you’ve got the wrong vehicle. The Wrangler brings you the basics, and that’s perfect for your time on the trails. You’ll find hand-crank windows, rubber floor mats, cloth or vinyl upholstery, and drain plugs in the floor. The interior of this SUV is made to be hosed out after some time on the trails. Of course, if you are looking for something a bit more upscale, the Rubicon model delivers with leather upholstery, but don’t expect this SUV to become a luxury cruiser.

A Style that Stands the Test of Time

You can’t mistake a Jeep Wrangler for anything else. For the past 80 years, the basics of the original Willys General Purpose vehicle have stayed relevant and ideal for off-road driving. This SUV was made to handle the rigors of driving across war-torn European battlefields in the 1940s, and now it’s one of the most engaging and impressive off-road SUVs in the market. From the removable doors and windshield to the high stance and short overhangs, this Jeep tells you it’s time to head out on the trails for some fun.

The Wrangler is a Way of Life

You might have seen the spare tire covers that say things like “It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand” and have had a laugh at them. The truth is, there are more Jeep clubs, with most owners driving this SUV than any other vehicle in the market. Only the Ford Mustang rivals the Wrangler for the rabid following and club ownership. Many Jeep clubs get together to regularly attach the trails and have some fun. If you’re looking for a vehicle that improves your social life, you’ve found it.

Four Powertrain Possibilities in the 2023 Model

The 2023 version of the Jeep Wrangler gives you four ways to have the power you desire. The starting point is the venerable 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that brings 260 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. This proven performer mats to either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine adds a plug-in hybrid setup with two electric motors for the 2023 model year. This power setup returns 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Without the hybrid system, this engine was rated for 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, which means this new offering gives you a healthy dose of extra power.

A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 returns to the mix to deliver 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, while the Wrangler Rubicon 392 continues to be the top dog with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8. This monstrosity brings you 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque in the most powerful production Wrangler ever built.

Will you choose one of the new colors for your Jeep Wrangler or stick with a classic option? Could the Freedom Package become part of the Jeep you drive? Are you looking at one of the upgraded powertrains, or will you stick with the Pentastar powertrain?
