The 2023 CR-V Is Better On Gas and More Powerful

The new 2023 Honda CR-V for sale is more powerful and fuel-efficient than ever before. The sixth-generation redesign includes better options for the hybrid powertrain. The new hybrid models are more powerful than previous versions and are also more powerful than the gas versions.

What’s New With the Honda CR-V For Sale?

Most automakers these days are hard at work creating more EV models for their fleets, and Honda is no exception. The current hybrid options for the Honda CR-V for sale include the Sport and Sport Touring. Even if a hybrid SUV isn’t at the top of your list, the Honda CR-V hybrid offers a lot more than just being a hybrid. The new exterior design features a more rugged look with a wider and longer wheelbase than before. Door-mounted side mirrors and redesigned interior pillars provide more visibility than before as well. The interior is nicer and more comfortable than ever with added legroom in the rear, better quality materials, and more cargo room behind the rear seats. Tech and safety features have been upgraded as well. Higher trims offer a nine-inch touchscreen, but all trims come with smartphone connectivity and the Honda Sensing package of advanced safety features.

All-New CR-V Hybrid Options

The Sport and Sport Touring trims of the Honda CR-V for sale feature a two-motor hybrid powertrain that includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. To compare, the regular gas models of the CR-V use a four-cylinder engine that makes 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy figures for the 2023 model haven’t been released yet, but it’s expected it will be around the same as the 2022 model at 38 MPG combined. Another great standard feature with the Touring trim is a real-time AWD system with intelligent control that can deliver half the engine’s torque to the rear wheels, which improves traction on slippery surfaces.

Are More Robust Hybrid Powertrains the Trend?

Honda, like many other automakers, is working hard to add more EV models to its fleet. However, not all customers are convinced that their next vehicle should be an EV or hybrid. Some people even have a misconception that hybrid or EV models are weak in the performance department. In response to that, Honda and other automakers are working to create more robust hybrid powertrains. The previous hybrid powertrain on the Honda CR-V was no slouch either. It made 182 horsepower and 194 pound-feet of torque, which is fairly standard for an SUV the size of the CR-V. So the new CR-V hybrid is simply an upgrade of the previous model. For many people, the additional power might be the feature to make them consider a hybrid.

As fully gas-powered models are falling out of favor, hybrids like the Honda CR-V for sale continue to add features and performance to take their place.
