Hyundai has taken its popular EV SUV into the performance realm, and the results are stunning. Find out what to expect from the 2025 IONIQ 5 N.
Introducing the 2025 IONIQ 5 N
Finding one at the local Hyundai dealership can still be challenging, but the brand’s new performance EV SUV is now available. The 2025 IONIQ 5 N rides in on the heels of the already vastly popular IONIQ, but it’s a different beast.
The Most Powerful Hyundai Yet
Drivers will not find anything else quite like the IONIQ 5 N at their Hyundai dealership showroom. This beastly EV uses two motors to produce 601 hp and doesn’t stop there. Hyundai also added an N Grin Boost feature to push the powertrain to a maximum of 641 hp.
Hyundai claims the IONIQ 5 N can make 60 mph in 3.25 seconds, but third-party testers have already managed it in 3 flat.
Performance and Handling Make the IONIQ 5 N a Joy to Drive
The IONIQ 5 N’s designers didn’t just set out to create a fast, powerful EV SUV. They also kept performance and handling in mind, giving drivers a vehicle that’s astonishingly responsive and fun to drive.
The IONIQ 5 N is also versatile. It has four drive modes, including Eco, Normal, Sport, and N, to adjust the steering weight and throttle sensitivity. Drivers can switch between Endurance and Sprint modes, preserving battery power during normal driving but unlocking maximum power at the race track.
Under normal driving conditions, the IONIQ 5 N tracks straight during all-out launches and hard ABS engagement, even on surfaces with less-than-perfect traction. However, drivers can turn on the N Drift Optimizer for extra fun on the track.
Getting Every Detail Right
Drivers have certain expectations regarding performance cars, and the IONIQ 5 N’s designers know that. Little details like a simulated gearshift feature replicating the feel of shifting using the EV SUV’s steering-wheel-mounted paddles show their dedication to driver satisfaction.
Hyundai also added several features to the IONIQ 5 N’s cabin to heighten performance and driving experience. They include aggressively bolstered front seats, unique steering wheel features, and as much passenger and cargo space as the standard IONIQ 5.
Charging Times That Keep Up With the Car’s Performance
The IONIQ 5 N doesn’t just drive fast. It also charges incredibly quickly. With 800V DC ultra-fast charging, drivers can get from 10 to 80% in 18 minutes. Even a full day at the track doesn’t require much waiting at the charging station.
The situation is even better at home. With 240V AC home charging, the IONIQ 5 N’s battery can go from 10% to 100% in seven hours.
It’s Time to Head to the Hyundai Dealership
The 2025 IONIQ 5 N has already been named the 2024 World Performance Car of the Year, and drivers everywhere are excited about it. The best way for buyers to get their hands on one of these impressive EVs is to head to the Hyundai dealership to discuss options.
