Honda Fuel Cell Technology Expertise

Honda is engaging in a strategy to have 100% zero-emissions vehicles in its lineup by 2040. This includes battery EVs and fuel cell EVs like the new CR-V e: FCEV model. The 2025 CR-V e: FCEV will be available in California for customer leasing at the end of this year. Drawing On the Honda FCX

Honda began its journey with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in 2002 when it introduced the Honda FCX. This was the first zero-emission fuel cell EV in the world to be certified for everyday use by the EPA and the California Air Resources Board. It also became the first FCEV to be leased to regular customers. The new CR-V model will be built in Ohio, making it the only fuel-cell EV made in America. As with all EVs, you won’t have to visit Honda service and repair as often.

First Application of the 2nd Gen Honda Fuel Cell Module

The 2025 Honda CR-V e: FCEV will also represent the first application of Honda’s second-generation fuel cell model, which is produced by Fuel Cell System Manufacturing in Michigan. The new module offers better durability than before, as well as more efficiency and a lower cost. The second generation of Honda’s fuel cell module was developed in tandem with General Motors. It will reduce costs by roughly two-thirds compared to the previous generation.

Key Features of the 2025 Honda CR-V e: FCEV

Some key features of the 2025 Honda CR-V e: FCEV include distinctive bold styling, a 270-mile range with zero emissions, a new second-generation fuel cell module, plug-in Level II charging, a modern and spacious interior, a nine-inch touchscreen, and wireless smartphone integration.
