The Jeep Wrangler used to be the only game in town when it came to off-roading fun, but the arrival of the next-generation Ford Bronco changed that. Now, the battle between the two off-road giants continues with the 2025 model year. So, which of these off-road vehicles is right for you?

Jeep Wrangler vs. Ford Bronco: Choose Your Power

The tried-and-true Jeep Wrangler offers several engine choices. It starts with a 3.6-liter V-6 that puts out 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Get some turbo power with the optional 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 270 horsepower, or step up your game with the 6.4-liter V-8 for the Rubicon 382 that makes 470 horsepower. Want to maximize fuel economy? A plug-in hybrid is available, too.

The Bronco has a few engine options, but not as many as what you’ll find at a Jeep dealer when you’re looking at the Wrangler. Its engine lineup starts with a 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder with 300 horsepower, or if you get the Black Diamond, you can get power from a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 that’s good for 330 horsepower. The Raptor has even more power with its 418-horsepower turbo V-6.

Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco Both Offer Simple and Functional Interiors

Both the Wrangler and Bronco have cabins that emphasize their off-road focus. You can take the doors off the Wrangler or completely remove the top. The Bronco also has removable doors.

The higher-end Wranglers offer some extra comfort features, such as power-adjustable driver’s seats, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. Upper-level Broncos also have power-adjustable front seats and upgraded leather upholstery.

All the Off-Road Features You Need

The Wrangler and the Bronco are all about tackling terrain that other SUVs wouldn’t even attempt. This means they have to have the equipment to do it. The Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon X are the most capable models with low-range gearing, heavy-duty front and rear axles, and rock rails. It also has an electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar for better wheel articulation.

The Bronco Raptor with the Sasquatch Package is the most capable. This setup has 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, 35-inch mud-terrain tires, and electronically locking front and rear axles. It also has a lifted suspension to help you get up and over large obstacles.

But What About the Tech?

When you go to a Jeep dealer and take a seat in the Wrangler, you’ll be greeted by a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen, no matter which trim you’re in. It comes loaded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to make it easy to sync your phone. An integrated navigation system is available along with an Alpine premium stereo system so you can enjoy your favorite music while navigating off-road terrain.

The Bronco also has a 12-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Ford’s infotainment system comes with integrated navigation and a seven-speaker stereo system. Add the High/Lux package to the Bronco for an upgraded 10-speaker B&O stereo system and wireless charging for your phone.
