Is a horse race the right place to feature a Ram truck? Of course, it is. Think about how the horses get from one place to another.

These incredible animals that are put on a pedestal of being athletes that perform with a jockey on their back at Churchill Downs every year spend their time traveling from one place to another in a trailer that’s pulled by a powerful pickup truck. In many cases, that pickup truck is one that’s part of the brand lineup, which makes the presence of Ram at the event a regular feature.

The Presence

Ram has been a partner of the Kentucky Derby for the past nine years and at the event that took place, Ram showed off a new truck that was certainly a hit of the events surrounding the derby itself. This new model was part of the Ram brand experience which included truck displays, brand video board integration, signage, and posters that were located around the grounds. While it may seem a bit out of place with the style and celebrity presence at this race, it just seems to make perfect sense for Ram to be at the Kentucky Derby.

The new Ram Special Edition is the Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition. This truck is one that’s built to offer a vehicle that’s packed with the technology, luxury, and capability we want in a truck that can be the right one to drive on the road. The aspects of this truck that will make it a limited model will be a new Limited Edition look and special Kentucky Derby Run for the Roses bed graphics. This truck is being limited to a run of only 2,000 models and is currently on sale if this is the truck you want to drive.

A True Partner in Ram

Not only did Ram show up with a special truck and plenty of advertising at this event, they truly acted as a partner with the support offered. The traditional Garland of Lilies and Garland of Roses that are worn by each horse that wins over the weekend are transported to the race in a Ram ProMaster van. The Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade was also led by a pink-wrapped Ram 3500 during this march of breast cancer and ovarian cancer survivors around the historic racetrack at Churchill Downs. As this was the 144thrunning of the Kentucky Derby, there were 144 survivors that participated in this parade.
