The Kia Stinger GT<\/h3>\n

The newest Stinger is considered a midsize sedan that comes in three trims. The entry-level GT is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque.<\/p>\n

Drivers who want to step up their drive should explore the GT1 or GT2 trims. Both of these models come with an upgraded 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that makes 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque.<\/p>\n

The Elantra N is loaded with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes a solid 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the Stinger GT, the Elantra can also be purchased with a six-speed manual transmission. If you find a used Hyundai Elantra N on the market, it will produce similar specs.<\/p>\n

Considering that the N trim is part of Hyundai\u2019s high-performance line, this ride should handle itself well on the track.<\/p>\n

Start Your Engines<\/h3>\n

To put these two sedans to the test, they participated in two races. The first put the two up against each other at a starting line. When the race started, the Stinger jumped off the line and took a sizable lead. This wasn\u2019t much of a surprise to onlookers. What caught everyone\u2019s attention was how the Elantra kept pace with the Stinger. It even gained on it just before crossing the finish line.<\/p>\n

The second race had both cars start from a rolling position. The Stinger was again able to get a better start, but it couldn\u2019t actually pull away. The Elantra was able to keep the pace with the Stinger, and the two crossed the finish line at virtually the same time.<\/p>\n

The results of these two races surprised those who looked only at the performance specs. The Stinger\u2019s larger engine produces much more horsepower than does the Elantra N\u2019s engine. This disparity might make you think that the Stinger would win every race by a mile. The Stinger weighs about 700 pounds more than the Elantra N, which plays into the results. While the Elantra can\u2019t jump off the line as fast, it proves that it\u2019s able to keep up. It might even win a longer race where it has time to get going.<\/p>\n
