The new Range Rover SV Black is absolutely true to its name, with everything blacked out, and it’s got the automotive world geeking out about it.

The shift from chrome to black trim elements changed the name of the game in automotive styling and appearance. This change gave vehicles a more sophisticated and sinister appearance, which was a huge hit. While most automakers have stayed with dark elements for the trim pieces, Land Rover took things to a whole new level with the new Range Rover SV Black, which could be the darkest vehicle ever to hit the streets.

This new Land Rover flagship has a dark attitude

The Range Rover SV Black takes luxury SUVs to a darker place with Narvik Gloss Black paint, a 607-horsepower V8, and tech that literally lets you feel the music through your feet. Available late 2025, this stealthy flagship hits 62 mph in 4.5 seconds while wrapped head-to-toe in black leather, black birch wood, and 23-inch black wheels. It’s Range Rover’s darkest creation yet, and it costs 238,900 to start.

The Range Rover SV Black is the new top dog

How would you like to drive a 607-horsepower SUV? Should that SUV have Sensory Floor technology and Body-and-Soul Seat controls? Maybe you’d like it if it rode on top of 23-inch black wheels. The most sinister and elegant luxury SUV of 2025 is a special edition of the already impressive Range Rover SV. It takes the black theme to a whole new level with a fully blacked-out interior and exterior, giving this SUV the pure monochrome appearance that has become a huge hit in the luxury SUV world. This new Land Rover creation takes on a more imposing presence, similar to the blacked-out Cadillac Escalade and Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.

This new creation is a Narvik Gloss Black Range Rover that replaces all bronze accents from the traditional SV model with black accents. Even the brake calipers are finished in black to ensure a consistent theme. The only place you’ll find a hint at a second color tone is in the cabin, where you’ll see black birch veneers across the dashboard and doors to offer a subtle contrast.

What is the Sensory Floor technology

In a world of automotive excesses, the new Range Rover SV Black comes with something you haven’t experienced yet. The Sensory Floor technology is a haptic floor system that allows you to feel the music through your toes. That’s right, the floor will vibrate in time with the music thanks to transducers located within the floor. The vibrations can be felt through the thick-pile carpet, moving in time with the music or to one of the six built-in wellness programs that are meant to soothe the passengers inside the vehicle. This feature isn’t something you need, but you’ll be thrilled to have it when you drive this flagship Land Rover SUV.

Power for the Range Rover SV Black is familiar

There aren’t any powertrain differences between the standard Range Rover SV and the Black model. This means you’ll have a fantastic 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine sending 607 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, giving you more than enough power to handle a fast sprint of 4.3 seconds to 60 MPH or head out on the trails for some off-road fun. Of course, most versions of this Land Rover SUV are likely to be seen near the luxurious parts of town and not on the rugged trails or on a track.

You can make this SUV even more functional

The new Range Rover SV Black isn’t a one-size-fits-all type of vehicle. While the foundational elements are all-inclusive, you can add a few items to the mix to make it more of what you want to enjoy when it’s time to take a drive. There’s an optional deployable sidestep package that adds $5,200 to the price, and a towing package with Advanced Tow Assist will cost $1,200 over the MSRP. The cold climate package could be a $350 gem with its heated windshield and heated washer jets which can come in handy when you live in a colder area of the country.

Land Rover also offers black-themed versions of the Range Rover Sport and Defender Octa, but if you want the top dog with its pure sophistication and sinister appearance, you’ll want to go for the Range Rover SV Black.

Will this dark luxury SUV be found in your driveway sometime soon?
