Making Updates to the GMC Acadia

The new generation of the GMC Acadia was intruded in 2016 and because it’s only been on the market in this build for a couple of years you might not expect this model to be scheduled for an upgrade in style or looks. As we see more technology added to the market, you would expect the Acadia to gain more of this as it’s a premium and rugged SUV that makes driving easier and more fun for you to enjoy the ride on the road. What you wouldn’t expect to have offered is a change to the style this early in the run, but that’s where GMC is headed.
Taking a look at some of the spy shots that were captured for the new build of the Acadia, we see the SUV is sporting a mid-cycle refresh that may end up on the SUV in the next couple model years. The camouflage that covered up several panels of the Acadia let us know where changes might appear as it is improved and updated for the future to ensure we can have the vehicle that’s right for the drive we want to enjoy out on the road.

Where is the GMC Acadia Being Refreshed?

Do you think a vehicle that’s only been on the market for three years needs to be upgraded? If you see how fast and competitive the automotive market has become, you’d certainly think this vehicle is due for an upgrade and does need to be improved. The places this model will be improved include the front end, headlights, grill, rear bumper, and taillights. Overall, this sounds like a fairly standard facelift that might not garner much attention on other vehicles, but the Acadia is one of the favorites for its rugged feel and premium qualities.

The power offered for the GMC Acadia shouldn’t change much at all with the drive coming out of either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter V6. There are rumors the current six-speed automatic transmission, which has been aging for a while, could be replaced by the new nine-speed automatic transmission that’s been developed with Ford. This would mean an even better ride in a premium vehicle that’s ideal for the drive you want to enjoy and the qualities you’re looking for when you head out on the road to experience the fun and active ride you want to enjoy.

When should we see the new upgrades being tested offered for the GMC Acadia? The expected timeframe is the early part of 2019 as part of the new 2020 model year. By that time, the current GMC Acadia will have been on the market for three full years and four model years, making it time for this mid-cycle upgrade that can be ideal for the ride you want to enjoy out on the roads. There might be more news as we get closer to this upgrade and if there’s more information, you can bet we’ll let you know what you can expect.
