Every year, the SUV market continues to hold strong. Buyers enjoy the versatility, interior space, and comfortable driving experience of this vehicle type. Almost every automaker now has a full lineup of SUVs with a range of sizes. Volkswagen is no different, and for 2024, the German automaker features a nice selection, including the overhauled 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan.
2024 Volkswagen Atlas
The Volkswagen Atlas slots in the lineup as the automaker’s largest SUV. It features a spacious interior with a third row. The 2024 model features an updated exterior design and a new interior with more high-quality materials. Some key tech features offered on the new model include a 12-inch infotainment screen and a 10.3-inch digital gauge display. Under the hood of the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 269 horsepower. Most models will come with FWD but AWD is optional on all trims.
2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
Similarly to the Atlas, the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport gets a big refresh for 2024. It will see all of the same updates and new features as the Atlas. The biggest difference between the two is exterior styling and the interior layout. The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport features a more streamlined exterior appearance and it does not offer a third row of seating. Other than those design differences, the Atlas Cross Sport is identical to the larger Atlas.
2024 Volkswagen Taos
The Volkswagen Taos only came out in 2022, but it’s already grabbed the attention of many car buyers. It slots in as a compact SUV with the good fuel economy of a compact sedan. For the 2024 model year, the Taos only sees minor updates to its front fascia. Inside, the Taos offers a spacious, comfortable interior with many tech features. Under the hood, the Taos features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. Its small size makes the Taos responsive and energetic with fuel economy numbers rating up to 36 MPG on the highway.
2024 Volkswagen Tiguan
Like the Atlas, the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan gets a major refresh for 2024. The Tiguan is another compact SUV, but it’s larger than the Taos with a third row of seating. For the new exterior, the Tiguan gets a smoother style that replaces the previously more angular style. Inside, the Tiguan features a massive tablet display as the infotainment control center. The Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 184 horsepower. Most Tiguan models are FWD, but AWD is available.
2024 Volkswagen ID.4
At the other end of the Volkswagen SUV lineup is the ID.4, a fully electric crossover that was significantly refreshed for the 2023 model year. The 2024 model will keep most of the same features, such as a gloss-black grille and new wheels. The ID.4 is roomy inside with room for five passengers. The driving range of the ID.4 tops out at 275 miles with the larger battery pack option. The smaller battery pack model can travel up to 208 miles between charges.
