The animosity that was part of the 1950s and 1960s between Ford and Ferrari was easy to see and could be cut by a knife.
Ford entered the era with the goal of simply being able to beat Ferrari at its own game, which is why we have the Ford GT and saw the original GT40 that made it to the tracks at Le Mans. The new story has been told offers focus on the relationship between Carroll Shelby and test driver Ken miles who were given the task of delivering a winning car for Ford. The stars that play these two heroes of the film will be Matt Damon as Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles. Other names show up including Jon Bernthal to play Lee Iacocca and Caitriona Balfe as Mile’s wife, Mollie. This movie has been a hit and tells us a story that’s a huge part of automotive history.
